Sally’s Sweets Bring Festive Cheer to Wolverhampton

Christmas…. a splash of colour, light and joyful children’s laughter… and Sally’s Sweet Oasis is no exception for festive excitement.

Sally’s, a local independent business based just off Lower Green, Tettenhall, today held a Christmas party for old and young “kids” alike. To step into the store is like a flashback to your childhood.

At the front of the shop alongside a very creative festive display, were some amazing original homemade cards by Louis Johnson, aged 9 of Tettenhall Wood, who has been raising money for charity for five years – on this occasion he is fundraising for Compton Hospice. I couldn’t help but buy one – I have a particular family member who is very fond of owls!

Upon entering, I was greeted by the sight the very talented Fiona of Fiona’s Faces painting symbols on arms and faces, two girls dressed as Elsa and Anna from Frozen, and Nikki – Wolverhampton’s own Stormtrooper on form in all her finery.

Elsa and Anna from Frozen were at the store to greet visitors

Special Christmas mix bags sat proudly on shelves featuring all the classics – Rainbow Drops, foam sweets, Santa chocolates and more, as well as I’m A Celebrity.. Bug Box selections, gingerbread iced cottages and Chupa Chups ‘baubles’.

Sally informed me that I had missed the earlier rush of eager children fresh out of school, but these had now been replaced by a mixture of families enthused by the warmth and cheer displayed by Sally & her assistant. This was a remarkable place to be on such a stormy evening.

Mulled wine was readily offered to all the adults present, and friendly chatter filled the air as the sight of the sweet delights was taken in.

Sally’s Sweet Oasis is holding a Christmas raffle to raise money for well known charity Promise Dreams, who help to fulfill the wishes of sick and disabled children.

Tickets are 50 pence each and the prize is a stunning hamper (pictured) carefully put together by Sally herself. Don’t delay, visit Sally’s and get yourself a ticket to avoid missing out on the chance of winning this fine prize.
