Phew, breathe a sigh of relief! Bank holiday weekend is upon us, and there is a multitude of events to choose from in the local area to make your long weekend go with a bang and welcome in the spring.
There are beer festivals at both the Codsall Station in South Staffordshire and The Vine in Wednesfield, from Thursday 30th April – Monday 4th May, as well as Beer from Merseyside weekend at the Hail to the Ale in Claregate.
Codsall Station’s beer festivalWightwick Manor is hosting a ‘Floralia Festival’ between 1st & 4th May, with a painting of Flora, the Roman Goddess of Flowers on loan from the De Morgan Foundation as well as displays of flower arrangements through the ages. On Sunday 3rd May, the Summer House on Newhampton Road West is hosting ‘The 2nd Secret Garden Party‘ – a family event with live music from 2pm into the late evening in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Also on Sunday is a charity football match at Bilston Town FC between a Legends 11 composed of ex-professionals and an ARDB-Redballoon team in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital. There will be table top stalls and other entertainment at the event, more details here.
