Hail to the Ale micropub in Claregate has been named Wolverhampton ‘Pub of the Year’ 2015 by Wolverhampton members of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA). This will likely not come as a shock to the micropub’s patrons who visit in their droves to sample the best of Essington based Morton Brewery’s real ale as well as guest ales, real cider, perry, fruit wines and pub snacks.

Despite being in existence for only 18 months, the micropub has won an army of supporters and regular drinkers by offering a traditional atmosphere and a good selection of food and drink. Owners Gary and Angela Morton have been rewarded for their hard work in turning this former Post Office and antiques shop into a model establishment in the micropub mould. According to the Micropub Association;

‘A Micropub is a small freehouse which listens to its customers, mainly serves cask ales,

promotes conversation, shuns all forms of electronic entertainment and dabbles in traditional pub snacks’

Hail to the Ale announced the news this morning via their Facebook page, thanking family, friends and customers for their support.
